Her work also represents a female perspective in a very masculine part of the art world. How many female graffiti or street artists do you know? And even better she is very intentional about bringing girly elements to her graffiti and wall art. She uses lots of pinks and purples, flowers, hearts and butterflies. But the part that I just don't really get is the porn references. A lot of her figures are in extremely sexual poses. And I'm not sure what she's trying to say with that. With the super sweet color scheme it just seems to play into male fantasies about women, without really challenging that a whole lot. Maybe it's just trying to celebrate women as magical creatures or something, but it just seems like porn to me.
